NuMark VJ

It's fun as hell! With some proper heads up you can begin to mix video clips or stills in sync with whatevers going on live. People in the crowd begin to wonder how the video show is so seamlessly qeued up with the audio.

It's a breeze to setup and use too!

I don't understand how you'd "mix" video at the same time as music--can somebody explain this to me?

Like, do you drop a record, then start jumping between videos, then stop & hurry up and cue the next record? :?:

Theres tonnes of ways to route midi from stuff like ableton etc through to vj apps like modul8, or arkaos, resolume avenue etc etc. try vjforums.com, excellent resource, just search for stuff.

Another alternative is virtualdj. lots of people think its dogshit but why I don't know, you can mix videos with insane resolutions, over multiple graphics cards. no need for video plug-ins like SL.

Tough though I imagine for Dj's to incorporate visuals themselves, building up decent content etc. it's a dj / vj collaboration thing to get it right. I've been lookin to collaborate with someone doing some good dubstep for a while, wanting to create some dark midi linked AV sets. Everyone I've tried this with just doesn't put the effort in though.

anyone looking to branch out into some sort of dark dub AV hit me up. check out www.rebeloverlay.co.uk

yeah

I agree that it'd be sick to be able to VJ while DJing with serato, etc...

I think the two should be seperated, like a DJ should rinse recs, and the VJ should rinse your mind with sick clips

just my opinion tho
