My first try at dubstep! Opinions!?

Post by xcurdy » Sun Apr 26, 2009 6:25 am

Hey what's up everybody? My name is Curtis, aka xCurdy haha. I just recently got into dubstep. To me dubstep is a mixture of everything I love in music. It's got the hip hop/rap feel to it, and it's also got the whole drum and bass feel to it. I first heard it at some half assed 'rave' put together by my ex-girlfriends friends. Everyone was this 'VIP' type room and I had NO idea who anyone was there. So, here I am trippin' balls on acid listening to the DJ spin some crazy shit I've never heard before. I got to talk to him after he got off and he told me the style of music was dubstep. After that I fell in love.

I have been producing hip hop mostly, before I had heard this stuff, so it's only natural I step up in the world and join you mother fuckers in dubstep. The past couple of days I have been fuckin' around. I have made some stuff I am pretty proud of. I want you guys to let me know how you feel about it, should I keep goin' for it? Or just give up now haha. Let me know.

I have one track up right now, it's pretty rough draft.. it's got like.. 2 loops in it and shit, but yeah.. Wanted to know what you guys think about it before I go all out on this shit.

It's the last one on the list titled.. well.. you know.. 'dubstep' haha.

Check it out, lemme know what y'all think!

A very dark track, obv very simple with the two loops but IMO I think you're onto something. I'm a newish listener to Dubstep, so obviously I'm not going to offer you a professional opinion, but I thought that track had potential, man.
