Lee Scratch Perry Talks About Burning Down Studios And God

Post by clashmag » Tue Apr 28, 2009 2:51 pm

Not so much dubstep, but dub nonetheless. Lee Scratch Perry emerges for a rare interview with ClashMusic.com to discuss dub music, The Clash, building the most advanced studio at the time with his bare hands and... burning it back down.

nice... big ups on this one. I love this guy. Lee Perry is a genius, helped invent the whole delayed tape echo/reverby sound... Some incredibly far out shit for back in the day. He even got half a lecture in this History of Electronic Dance Music class I had in college.

Is he really as crazy as he always seems every time I see a picture of him? Well I just finished watching a couple of his YouTube videos and I think the answer is "yes."

No, that was at UCLA. Also took The History of Rock N Roll there, taught by a guy who did his PhD dissertation on Metallica. Probably my two favorite (and most useful) courses ever.
