advice on purchase

Post by darkartois » Thu Apr 30, 2009 1:41 am

So after deciding to get an Little Phatty I found a retailer in Chicago offering an exhibition Stage 2 for $899. I emailed them to see if anything was wrong with it, they said it was in mint condition, no scratches or dents and working perfectly. I finally set enough money aside 2 days ago and ordered it online. They emailed confirmation and charged my card $928. They called the next day and said "someone beat me to it" and they no longer had the exhibition model. They offered to ship me a brand new one for an extra $137. It's still a hell of a deal getting a brand new one for $1050 but according to Illinois consumer law they have to sell it to me at $899. I left it with them that I would call in a few days to pay the extra $137. They still have my $928.

So, should I just accept I am getting a good deal on a new LP or demand it for the price I have already paid?? Their website never stated they only had one exhibition model and they had a quantity box meaning I could have ordered and been charged for 10 if I really wanted to.

If that's the case, then tell them to give you your Little Phatty. Maybe double check that law (if you aren't 100%), and then let them know that that is the way it is.

Good luck with it!

think I would be right to demand it at price paid. every other website that has demo models list that they only have one in stock.

http://docs.google.com/gview?a=v&attid= ... tion%2Fpdf

Pages 9 & 10 state they have to sell it for what I paid. Tis very vague though. Just want the damn synth already
