I seem to spend way too much time wading through the thousands of crap drum hits I have, trying to find the right sounds by which time I lose a lot of my initial impetus to make the tune itself. does anyone know where I can acquire a solid kit/s (dubstep/hip hop), or anyone of you be so kind as to upp some kicks/snares or w/e

a beat maker can never have too many drums ! and you will most likely find if you delete all the shit you have now you'll have a hard time finding better things to fill the gap

with all respect dude i completely disagree.
nothing like a vibe killer than going thru 80000 shit hi hat samples....
IMHO etc.
ive got a super trimmed selection now, and frankly mainly use ADM anyway.
But each to their own i guess.

The drum kits in the Reason Factory Sound Bank has some awesome samples in there.
Chuck a bundle of effects and EQ at them, and you're in there like swimwear.
I recycle a lot of drum hits from my previous tracks, but very slight changes in EQ and a different effect on them changes the whole timbre of them.
Give it a go!

well...
I used to create my own breaks on bfd and that was fun
I was making hiphop and working with bands and bfd came in handy back then
I still have it, I just don't really care for it
but "BFD ALL" or "BFD ULTRA" was just like working with a real drummer with adjustable mic placement, etc...
took me back to the days of being an intern
