Says on that list that Live LE doesn't have ReWire support, but my one does and I got mine with Oxygen 8 v2 :? :)

live lite and LE aren't the same. LE is a stripped-down version of the original (no instruments, i believe) while lite is definitely feature-limited. I think you can only have 4 audio tracks and 2 midi tracks-- or maybe just 4 tracks all together. it works as a rewire slave, but i don't think can work as a rewire host.

it also doesn't support compressed audio files, so you'll have to convert your 320's to aiif/wav in order to dj with it.

i think the upgrade is relatively affordable, though.

i'm slowly moving over a lot of my work to ableton and absolutely loving it-- at least, when i can get my head around it.

I found the demo I got with my m-audio keyboard. I actually can't make a noise with this program, I feel like a fucking moron. I can load hits into the sampler and trigger them but can't get anything from the keyboard. I figured you just drag an instrument to where it says 'put an instrument here' and you'd be able to play it.

I know I'm doing something really stupid wrong, and there's no section in the manual for 'I'm a dick and can't do anything.' It just tells me how to view all the functions.

Make sure the track with impulse is armed..(i.e. the record button on..)
Then if you are using the keyboard.. make sure the you toggle z and x to find the correct octave the sample is in.. For instance A triggers the first sample box in impulse.... So hit A while toggling z and x until you hear the sample trigger.. Hope this helps... Find the right octave to trigger the sample...

Same thing happened to me!!! Hahahaha- it took me ages to figure out why I couldn't get any sounds out of my synth ... and then I said to myself, "I wonder what that button does..."

Hallelujah!!!

I found that with drum rack - you have to make sure that the hits you have loaded in it are in the octave your controller is set up to trigger. There is a small series of squares next to the drum rack and one of the little quares will light up when you hit it on your controller. just adjust the octave until you are in the right one.

Ah, thanks for that people, I'll have a look. I was expecting a wave of abuse if I started a thread titled 'how to do a noise in ableton.'
