What speed are you supposed to play vinyl singles at? Like, on a normal turntable that doesn't have speed/pitch warping or anything like that. I recently bought Tectonic Plates Volume 2, and I'm pretty sure its supposed to go at 45rpm... but traditionally 12 inch vinyls play 33 and a half? The speed isn't written anywhere on the vinyl.. does it vary from release to release? God i sound like an idiot  thanks

It varies. Most single sided Dance vinyls are 45..

Some start from the inside out too:D

I got a tune where the first track is on the inside. The second track on that side plays from the outside but is in the middle. The final track is on the oudside but starts on the inside.

Goodluck in the dark.

:o
What cut is that? Sounds mental

I remember ToyTown had massive spacing on the breakdown and then would go back to normal groove spacing with the kick. Shit, but the closest thing to weird vinyl stuff I've encountered.

Was not uncommon fort he Detroit lot to do things different.

Lots of Detroit Techno Records are cut weird.

I have a Kevin Saunderson Record that has two tracks on top of each other, you have to select which groove at the beginning.

I have an Underground Resistence record that has one track start from inside and play out and on that same side have a different song play outside in.

Nutty. Dont scratch them or you are fucked.

yeah. my mate had an old megadeth (LOL) 12" that played inside out.

Two tracks on one side is also reasonably common (for this sort of thing).

Locked grooves at end of track (or elsewhere - im one of 99 1 bar loops coming out on vinyl soon as locked grooves !)

Trying to find the name of another label, pure madness.

the original pressing of De La Soul's single "me myself and I" plays inside out

if you drop the needle in the wrong spot you get a 5 minute commentary on other rappers making fun of them

I was buggin out before I realised what was happening

i also like the cds you have a hidden track if you rewind before 00:00 - Lambs second cd is one example. Starts at -4:15 or so. Impossible to rip and AFAIK impossible to burn at home.

A spraypainted anti 7" mounted to a wooden block. Theoretically possible to play, but one must break the arm of a record player to get the needle over the block

Dream Theater's Octavarium had tracks hidden in between the tracks. The main 8 were written in the minor natural keys and the hidden ones were the "black" keys.

One of the Chain Reaction CDs (Matrix - Various Films) had, I think, three tracks hidden behind there.

I wonder if there's an album out there where all the music is hidden behind the first track.
