Cubase SX Timestretching help

Been making a dubstep tune with some vocals i found but am having difficulties time stretching them to fit the tempo of the track.

Do i need to time stretch the vocals to half of what the tempo of the tune is? So say the tune is set at 140bpm, do i need to stretch the vocals to 70bpm?

At the mo I've just been completely guessing by setting to locator range and seeing if it works but its taking way to long.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance..

Time Stretch tool in Cubase is OK for little pitch corrections, but the more you stretch the more it goes nuts

anyway you can go mental with ultra low pitched drum samples :D
Melodyne's algorythms are far better

simplest way is to find original tune with beats and work out bpm that way.

then, either change tune BPM or timestrech vocals to fit, or a bit of both.

lots of chopping will prob help too...

its hard. but fun.
