Staged, and it wasn't funny anyway. Ali G was a great character but Borat and Bruno just aren't that good imo, I just find them irritating.

Inclined to agree but some of the stuff where Bruno had me in tears of laughter, far more believable than his Ali G persona. This took balls, to interview national front fascist stnuc posing as a mixed race gay man (I actually think he's a Lithuanian Jew):
