Motu 828mk2 FW

Post by higgzbozon » Sun Jun 07, 2009 11:04 am

Hey guys,

not really a question, i just wanted to show my enjoyment with my new soundcard. Yesterday, i bought the Motu 828 mk2 Firewire version.

Normally the cost of the firewire version is a bit pricey for my price range. Then i saw an add to buy it new for € 400,- at a local store! This week is a sale week. They have a lot of products for extremely cheap prices :o

At the end of this months i'm gonna buy a new daw system too and i needed a new soundcard wich works with 64bit drivers. My older card is the Mindprint Trio Usb. I'll be using that for my internet pc.

I have to say, the Motu was a BIAAATCH to install. It wasn't recognised by window xp at all. Then i found out i disabled firewire in my biossettings

Now the thing is up and running and DAMN! No noise at all, a very, very clean sound and holy shit this thing goes LOUD! My mixes sound clearer then ever somehow. I thought a soundcard would only benefit your sound when recording into it. But i guess the opposite is true. My Mindprint was making alot of wierd digital noises and had a lot of issues.

Now my system runs smoother, the sound is better and latency is almost none!

Come to think of it i do have a question. SO it seems that the Motu makes my sounds and mixes sound better.. Is this possible by just hooking up a new soundcard??

:D

Peaz and have a very nice sunday all!
