took at least 2 (3? honestly i lost count) years between logic 7 and 8, so i honestly didnt even think about them announcing something.

however, the $99 iphone is tres interesting.

Logic 7 > Logic 8

Logic 8 reminds me of Garage Band. Logic 7 was aimed more towards "real producers/engineers" which I liked...

ye can't be serious mate! Logic 7 wasn't ergonomic in the slightest, and damned annoying to use at times... much faster to produce in 8 i find, there's less of a barrier to creativity as there was with 7's awkward workflow. Still many things that could be improved in version 9, maybe Apple will decide to fix some of those bugs in 8 we're still experiencing :?

I just feel like they dumbed Logic down with 8. I mean what the hell is a piano roll??? Call what it is, a matrix editor! And why all the Jam Packs? It's like they don't want you to be creative by making the sounds yourself, they already have them made.

well for 1, the jam packs already existed, and were $100/pop; they just included 'em.

the only thing i didn't like about 8 at first was the omnipresent transport bar at the bottom; since 8.2 that's been nicely taken care of.

saving channel strips is brilliant.

the only things i'd like to see in logic right now are more intuitive (and dependable) midi mapping for controllers, and better audio editing in the arrange window.

otherwise, this joint is a beast! Still can't believe the amount of power logic can handle; an outrageously efficient environment.

You can delete all the Apple Loops and other bullshit, they're a huge waste of disk space. Keep it minimal. Blank slate.
