[ammunition] mix - Locked Blades

by ScanOne & Stormfield

Armed to the teeth with dubplates, exclusives and proven sonic weapons, Combat Recording's core troopers ScanOne and Stormfield went into the studio to create this freestyle stream of savage bassbin electronics.

Hammered out live and unplanned in one take, it was done 2-tracks-on / 2-tracks-off using turntables, dubbed out with a Roland effects unit and a laptop full of loops and noises. Fortunately the results of this test run were recorded, and provide an audio snapshot into the sounds being smashed by the crew at the moment: the fierce energy of grime, dubstep and industrial breakage all mangled up and forced through the filter of dark electronics, dubbed out with sheets of reverb, delays and sickly ambience.
