history question - burial - the beginnings

a question to the people, who were there from the start
now a tune gets rinsed to death before it is released.
how was it with burial?
2005-2006, were the tunes played on the pirates? before the release or shortly afterwards? or the album surfaced from nowhere? (i know, the first ep and stuff...)
you can't catch burial tunes on the pirates often. oneman plays 'unite' from time to time.
or there was a time one could often hear his tunes?

kode 9 was playing burial tunes first, in live sets and sometimes on radio. then came the south london boroughs ep, which really made everyone stand up and listen. then the untitled lp. rest is history...

I don't think that's true. Burial has collabed with D-Bridge, Instra:Mental, Data, Goldie and Loefah, is working on an album, EP and tracks for a Hyperdub compilation, and how many of these tunes have you actually heard? Two?

add Thom York (pansy) & Four Tet to the above list

it's not about burial.
it's about the policy of other producers.

by the acid never lies
South London Boroughs left me speechless when I first heard it... find myself going back to this material more than Untrue, but then again I absolutely rinsed that lp for maybe two, three months when I bought that.

there is also the question about the difference of experiences.
i have the impression, people who discovered "south london borroughs" or the first album, discovered and experienced burial in some kind of another way than the "untrue"-wave did.

I remember being really impressed after the first lp that Hyperdub put out Ghost Hardware with the only promo info on this release coming about 3 days before the vinyl dropped.
What a way to generate interest

I heard a kode9 mix of nothing but the first burial album, i remember hearing 'distant lights' and thinking fuck me this amazing, after that i heard him being mentioned everywhere and on everything, then untrue came out and i saw it on the playlist for virgin airways when i was on a plane.
