the sounds you think won't work.
Everything works ofcourse. Just needs a different view. It's called creativity

for some reason (poss related to simon reynolds scenious ting) the 303 has never fitted in dnb/jungle and now dubstep. ive seen a few attempts slated.
i <3 the 303, the first true techno box. been meaning to have a go, but it just sounds.... weird. sure i can come up with something good.

Anything works if you use it properly. If the particular house organ you use doesn't work in the particular track you are working on, change it so it does work.
Nothing works just by plonking it in, if you used all presets with no tweaking or effects on any channels it would sound terrible.

I think you can make any sound work its just knowing how use it and where to put it

Oh man, this one was left wide open for abuse...
The -:cough:-

patch -:cough:- has been know to fail....
Proper answer though. Any sound that is out of context with the other sounds in the mix may not always work in dubstep (or any music for that matter).
(No I won't shut up about it, just take it as a joke.... I accept that some of you like that sound, and that's your right.... just as it is my right to rally against that shit.)

There is a secret patch on every synth ever made called 'gremlins in my ears'. It is a patch that talented producers use as an in-joke between themselves once they are famous.
The punch line of their joke is that they made some quality beats at some point which propelled them to fame, but because their power is now omnipotent at the top, they can simply resort to 'banger by numbers' methods and laugh all the way to the bank.
Some of us suffer due to these gremlins, others pop down Blockbusters and enjoy Gremlins 2.
