Are you bored again.

For me it's difficult, so I don't want to choose between those genres of electronic music. Belgium is a little bit a techno country, we have the famous 'I love techno' parties once a year in Ghent.
When I hear some good techno, like Robert Hood, Luke Slater's Planetary Assault Systems, Len Faki, Marcel Dettmann,... or the even more undergound ones like from the Equalized and Modern Love labels, I should say techno.
BUT for example now I'm listening to the new MRK1 mix from May and then I will say Dubstep.
To be honoust I don't want to choose between genres of electronic music, cause I also like ambient, IDM, some acid and even some house,....

Therefor I'm very happy to hear dubstep with techno influences like Scuba's productions, 2562, Martyn,...

i meant that stuff being called dubstep is more hard techno than dubstep

the dubstep vibe is lost and we are left with the same tempo and beat pattern but somehitng is lost

I like dubstep and techno so the stuff that blurs the distinction sounds good to me. 2562 is the best example - his stuff is just great music whatever you call it.

I wouldn't like all dubstep to go that way though. The important thing is that people can still do their own thing.

Double post, apologies.

Point was not to spam, but echodub genuinely seems to be the label who is pushing the whole 'Dubstep/Techno' thing......

For me it's Dubstep due to it's phatness and slowed down tempo......also it can do what it wants.

by the acid never lies
For the the epitome of dubstep meets techno is Basin Dub by 2562. Stripped down dubstep taken to it's logical conclusion - those sounds!

+1

for a start hard wobble dubstep is nothing like hard techno. Its pretty much its own thing, with pretty clear drum and bass influences

unless your talking about
Sully-Nutopian Skies or
Gunjack-Brukshut's revenge
I dont know any other actual hard techno soundin stuff

And Boring, I remember one of your 1st threads was about how you love 'moshing' to dubstep...

I think he means that techno influenced dubstep stuff sounds more like hard techno than dubstep.
