(SF) Surefire.Sound June 20 (Distance, XI, Antiserum, Duh)

Post by duh » Wed Jun 24, 2009 10:33 am

The first night in March, the prequel, was so much fun. I only caught a minute of the Cyrus and Clouds night because I was booked somewhere else, and I was out of town for the Appleblim and DJG night.

So I was really happy to see how Triple Crown has evolved into a dark, loud place to swing and sway, while keeping its nice, unaggressive loungey bit toward the front door and the bar. What could be a better, more inclusive introduction to the music for people that don't really know what is what yet.

Antiserum, XI, and Distance all demonstrated how good DJs can "read you a story," and made my job supremely easy. :D

Guys I went to high school with (who don't rave but are reggae dudes) marched in all hyphy and wyled out in front, dude was doing his kung-fu practice, spacey chicks were giving lapdances to invisible fat men, and the rest of the crew was just feelin it.

Nice1 Surefire posse! You guys really put the sac in ClasS ACt.

max, for the past five years I've heard you on the mic more times than I can count... and I don't think you have ever been this on target. it's a great sign when, at the end of the night, you can't remember the DJ and MC being two separate entities. you flowed so well with the music and perfectly matched every style they were throwing out there. (distance's old-school set, whaaaat!)

the triple crown really does have the best deep but non-aggro energy-- I love bringing my dubstep converts and watching them vibe on the space and sounds. everyone's sets on saturday night progressed beautifully... I spent the whole time staring at the floor and shaking my ass. perfect!

this night keeps getting better and better. thanks everyone <3

This night was heavy!! some confused faces when the old school came on but people need reminding from time to time where this music came from.

Out to Max and the other djs you all killed it.

Big up Miro with the Vision.

You got it.

Secret style though, I'm not putting that thing up in public.

Anyone else that wants it, holler at me.
