buying flac on Boomkat

Post by paint » Sat Jun 27, 2009 8:23 am

Hi, maybe I am just being stupid, but I can't figure out how to buy a single track from a release in flac on boomkat. I can get the one tune I want in 320 mp3, but flac only seems to allow the whole release. I can't find the tunes I want anywhere else than boomkat, so if anyone could give any advice (if I don't understand how to use it properly  ) that would be appreciated.

Cheers

Ok thanks lol

I am looking for
Darkstar Lilyliver / Out of touch.
(Decided I also like lilyliver now so I will get both sides)

and Darkstar Dead to me / Break
(only want dead to me)

I usually buy from digital-tunes, but these aren't up there. I checked juno, they don't have lilyliver / out of touch, and have dead to me / break, but only in 320.

in fairness of boomkat I've bought loads of flacs and mp3s from them had a problem with two releases.(suppliers upload errors).. which they resolved... and gave me two free releases of my choice in flac as a apology.. Digital tunes also great, Boomkat are generally cheaper so they tend to get quite a few of my purchases.

excellent choices, i bought all 4 of these tunes from boomkat a few weeks back. you're right though, there doesn't seem to be a way of buying
individual flacs and these releases aren't on bleep or beatport which doesnt help.

does anyone know what boomkat encode their mp3's with? iask because i cant find
the info on their website and on itunes it says encoded with unknown. i assume they use LAME

i buy most of my dubstep off boomkat, never ever had a problem. clean, easy to use website, quality releases, decent prices, nice writeups on everything...really don't see what the issue is.

oh and as far as i can tell from the releases i've got from there they encode their 320s with the latest LAME, so i guess atm thats 3.98b or something.

i've bought loads of stuff from boomkat.

i used to shop at their physical store pelikanneck in manchester until it shut down. i continued buying vinyl and mp3, but then three consecutive orders were late/fucked up/incomplete. they offered me no apology, even though it meant i couldn't play any stuff i'd ordered at the places i'd been booked to play. I wrote them an email saying how pissed off i was and all they said was it was because of the snow. i asked my mate in manchester and he said there hadn't been any snow. i said they were going to lose a good customer and they didn;t even reply to my email.

just my experience. it's a shame as i like the layout, but i'm not shopping with them anymore.
