I ALWAYS THOUGHT SERATO WAS BETTER BUT NOW MY MATE IS JIVING AT ME TO GET TORQ!?
say what!?
say what!?
Torq is ok now (after about 5 software updates)ChrisH wrote:6 of one half dozen of another.
It's all preference really. I use Torq because it is more affordable, especially after I got 40% off. I like it quite a lot. But really, it's down to what you feel, they all have similar things & issues. Just make sure that your RC cables, needles, etc are all in fair condition & your computer is fast enough to run it without hiccup & you'll be good.
Yeah you can't bitch about that anymore. Go buy the mspinky vinyls, very much worth it. There is good and bad to each. The price is the biggest. Serato is way overpriced, Traktor too. I like the way the wave forms being stacked on Torq. You can beatmatch visually if there is no percussion in an intro. It comes in handy believe me. Don't like the way you have to search for tunes in Torq but it can help to arrange the folders themselves. I find Torq to be very stable. Have seen Serato and Traktor crash so it isn't like any of them are rocks. Software will be software. The sound quality may be a tit better in Serato and even better in Traktor but almost imperceptible to my trained ears. I def don't feel the need to "upgrade" I am quite content with Torq. Maybe get Serato vinyl so I could use an existing set up every now and again and save myself some trouble.FSTZ wrote:Torq is ok now (after about 5 software updates)ChrisH wrote:6 of one half dozen of another.

it was cheap and that is why I bought it instead of traktor scratch or scratch live
the VST Support is also a plus
my main issue is the stock vinyl will only work at 33 rpm (I know about the ms. pinky vinyl, but I havent bought it yet.)
Serato is pretty damn stable and user friendly
What? Why not? I mean you have to set it up first. None of the clubs I play at have Serato set up either tho.KingDuppy wrote:BUT WHAT ABOUT INNA CLUB.
cant just walk into a club and play torq..
or can you?
can you please tell us why you believe this to be fact? The Dub Lemon wrote:serato or traktor > torq
Everyone has issues from time to time. I will tell you I have less and less problems the longer I use it. Most of the time because of experience I can diagnose and fix the problem before my first record even drops. If you have the dough to burn on dubplates more power to ya!marty wrote:i've also dj'ed on torq, serato and traktor scratch and to be honest i prefer torq, as i like the software best of all three. still when playing out i prefer vinyl & dubplates as i've had several issues in live-setups with all three systems (as well on pc-notebooks as on macbooks but in the end that's another story) and also realized that i look more onto the monitor as to the audience when using these systems...
