Quality of pressings

Has anyone else noticed a decline? It'd be very rare I'd have any problems with any records I bought a while back, nowadays it's commonplace in every purchase for one of the records to have a problem. In the last 4 times I've bought tunes there's been one or more that stick etc. :x

i know what you mean, got a few tunes, that when played theye gegt about half way through and start to sound like the needle is covered in fluff... at which point in inspect said needle and no fluff to be found on it :S

Also my ramadanman - humber 12" has a strange skip about 1.30 from the end :(

burial / four tet is crackly loads at the start (NOT A BURIAL SOUND i know the difference)

I have some Funky boots which sound fucking shite, they have a high pitched whine coming in and out on revolution, you can hear it at the start when cue-ing. Shystie Pull It (ill blu remix) has exactly the same sound on it....

about every time i have this problem, this same thread type comes up and lots of people complain about what releases they have that have issues...

i'm embarassed to say which ones i have that have defects because they are all ones that i probably could do without... hahahah

sucks that you guys all have good vinyl with problems, i thought of mine as more of a "see, you shouldn't have bought that tune" lesson. i hope i don't get some great vinyl with the 'stick' issue now that i just said all that.

This is true. I got this too and it's crackly as hell.

A lot of my other vinyl has pops and crackles you can hear at the start, but the one you mentioned is the worst.

I use vinyl and I'm always getting records... I didn't noticed nothing wrong with recent releases... Tracks mastered at Transition sounds better than ever...
