Shaking things up for an August evening, 44 swings by the Roxy Basement Bar for whats set to be a musical soundtrack to all things that go bump in the night! Hitting the top shelf spot 44 welcomes Ninja Tune's special weapon of choice KING CANNIBAL. Catching the attention of everyone from Amon Tobin to Laurent Garnier last year with the aural joyride that is 'Aragami Style' it was clear that this chap was a unique and uncompromising talent! Time and time again King Cannibal has come up with the goods laying down his distinctive sound on remixes for The Qemists, Ghislain Poirier, Two Fingers and non other than the Prodigy. With his full length album ready to drop on the legendary Ninja Tune, 2009 is King Cannibal's year for the taking... His live sets incorporate everything from old skool rave via rock and through to drum & bass, no stone is left unturned. Don't believe us??? Well you'll just have to come on down to find out.

Joining Mr Cannibal on the August 7th 'Japan's No1 Dubstep Artist' and the golden child of all things glitchy, AKIRA KITESHI. Quickly raising as a producer on many a lip, this Edinburgh based gentleman is set from great things. His debut 12" caused ripples throughout the electronic scene earlier this year, sampling Little Richard on the insane 'No Glitch' which burst through speakers from Brighton to Belgian! We can't wait from his set at 44, by all accounts he's got a few surprises up his sleeve.
