Not for DJing or producing but just for listening to Dubstep!! Although I would be listening to other genres such as Breaks, Drum & Bass, Hip Hop, Electro and Indie as well lol but obviously if they have good bass they can be used for other music as well right??

Any help appreciated thanks :D

truly, why would anyone suggest those Sennheisers if it was just for listening? The bass response on those is pretty crap(even if they are the best mixing headphones I've ever used)

For just listening, I'll 2nd the Grado suggestion(they're spendy, but damn nice open-style headphones)

I am pretty sure that is a totally different company. Both Ultrasone and Senheiser make quality cans tho. The higher end stuff anyway.

I personally use AKG's. I am not even sure I would recommend them for just straight listening tho. Great for referencing and studio work.

for in ear efforts, i had a pair of skullcandy smokin' buds, got good bass outta these, so good that when i fucked up the wire and they wouldn't work anymore i replaced 'em with the full metal jackets, these are some badman ear buds, get good bass outta them seeing as they go right into yer ear. manage to dampen a fair bit of sound from outside too.

gonna be rockin' these on my motorbike shortly.

been wantin' a pair of big fuck off over the head efforts for a while, but i dunno if i wanna be kickin' about on the buses and shit with them on. those skull crushers were proper tempting me when i bought the full metal jackets.

I would stay away from anything Skullcandy for one thing the gay ass name and the gay ass look they have and then if you can get past that they basically sound like shite.

In my experience the in ears all have great bass. I have a pair of 20$ Sony's that have huge bass, the high end isn't so great tho. They have almost too much bass really but I have a cheap MP3 player and together for some reason there is synergy.

for studio and listening I use Sennheiser HD 250 II with velour pads

Image

I have had them for more than ten years and the still sound great, they go really deep. They need a little more amplification than most others, so they are best used with a stereo amplifier if you need it loud. And they are the only pairs I can wear for hours and hours.

For dj'ing, I am on my third pair of Pioneer HDJ-1000 (have bought two and got them replaced once). It is silly bad plastic mechanism, like most other newer dj-headphones. My next pair is gonna be the HDJ-2000, and I am really looking forward to experiencing if metal construction holds as it should...

Edition9
is hand-made in Germany. Edition9 is a new pair of headphones with extraordinary qualities. Designed and manufactured with a maximum of attention. You are interested in a pair of headphones with the most sophisticated sound system and the most exclusive materials. Exclusive beauty and high technology at the same time. Take your time and enjoy the finesse in manufacturing and choice of materials.

The specifically created box allows you to store your Edition9 safely and convenient even for transportation. The earcups are black ruthenium-plated and the insignia on the earcups is made of chrome-plated brass, crafted in Bavaria. Earpads and head pad are made of soft genuine Ethiopian hair sheep leather in dark grey. This is the finest leather available with convincing attributes. This leather is so soft and smooth that you barely feel the headphones on your ears and it provides an excellent isolation. Your Edition9 is equipped with titanium-plated drivers and polished MU Metal shieldings for reduced magnetic field emissions. The set also contains a gold-plated adapter 6,3/3,5 mm. This combination of selected materials and ULTRASONE technologies presents the exceptional accurateness of your Edition9 headphones. Only manufacturers having proved their high standard and qualities by working with the most exclusive and luxurious automotive brands were chosen as suppliers for the realisation of Edition9.

Due to the great feed-back regarding the sold out “Edition7 limited” series, the Edition9 headphones have been developed to meet our customers special requests in design and sound. Edition9 is not limited and disposes of the highest quality materials and the most precise and natural sound appearance.

S-Logic™ - ULTRASONE´s Natural Surround Sound
The patented S-Logic™ technology is described as Natural Surround Sound. No other digital surround system can compare with this new standard. As the sound of normal headphones will sound direct and even on both sides, the S-Logic™ system pushes the sound around your head! It appears as though you are listening to speakers meters away. Even at very low levels, this spacious sound allows you to hear precisely. Edition9 uses titanium-plated drivers which offer the most accurate and finest sound reproduction. And on top, the S-Logic™ technology does not require additional electronic equipment!

How does S-Logic™ work?
S-Logic™ sends music around your head not just into it, because this technology uses decentralized driver positioning. Did you know that all of us use and need the outer ear for 3-dimensional hearing to define the direction and the distance where a sound comes from? Instead of hitting the inner ear directly, with S-Logic™ the signals are reflected off the surface of the outer ear in different directions before entering the auditory canal to create a natural 3-dimensional sound. S-Logic™ is the only headphone system which includes your entire sense of hearing. S-Logic™ does not change your personal hearing. It intensifies it for your individual needs and listening pleasure. S-Logic™ does neither need artificial echo nor digital processing or cross over run time delay (like DSP). You can hear the music just the way the sound mixer produced it.

ULE technology - ULTRASONE´s MU Metal shielding for reduced magnetic field emissions
ULE stands for Ultra Low Emission. The ULTRASONE ULE technology was systematically developed for professionals as they do spend half of their lives in headphones. Most headphone drivers convert an electric signal into an acoustical signal, producing low-frequency magnetic fields. In response, ULTRASONE developed a special MU Metal shielding (ULE technology) to reduce the radiation by up to 98% compared to current headphones. All professional ULTRASONE headphones are basically equipped with the ULE technology. Certainly your Edition9 headphones may not miss the ULE technology. The exclusiveness of your Edition9 calls for the ULE standard. This patented technology has stood the test of international review and is recommended by technical surveillance organisations.

ULTRASONE´s concept for safer hearing
The S-Logic™ technology does not only create a Natural Surround Sound. S-Logic™ allows at the same time a lower dB output (3-4dB) for the same loudness sensation. This may reduce the risk of hearing damage while ensuring hours of fatigue-free listening. However, ULTRASONE generally advises not to listen to music at high volumes to prevent hearing damage.

If you don't have a lot of spending money, then I suggest you get some Koss Ksc75s. I got a new pair off eBay for either $13 or $14 with free shipping, and man are they great. :) The only problem is that the construction does feel a little cheap (the clips have fell off a couple of times, but they snap right back on, so that's really not a problem), but as for the sound quality, it's excellent.

EDIT: Also worth noting, they come with a lifetime warranty. So even if they do break, you'll be able to get new ones for free. :)
