Saturday, July 25th, 2009!
THE GRITSY 3 YEAR ANNIVERSARY BASH!

In July of 2006, dubstep first began to boom through the streets of
downtown Houston courtesy of a few hardworking heads and a little,
unknown event with a funny name, GRITSY.

Now, three years later and a firm commitment to throwing a great party,
with some great talent, on a dope soundsystem...

I remember the first time I really heard Dubstep.It was at the Gritsy One Year Anniversary party.
See I'd been out the scene for 7 years for personal reasons. Guess I burnt myself out with partying way too much. Stopped DJing. All that shit.
I had started just over two years ago playing some house and whatnot. When I heard Dubstep for the first time, it blew my fucking mind. Much like D&B had all those years ago.
Just happened to be @ Gritsy. With Joe Nice.
Here we are two years later, I say we because last year the Gritsy Family took me in with open arms and now I am part of one of the most badass Dubstep nights stateside in GRITSY, and we are doing the 3 year with Joe Nice - because thats how we roll! Joe continues to set the pace in this dubstep thing we do. We couldn't think of a better way to turn 3 than to have the man that always rocks Gritsy to the core!

I said "Hey Joe, where you goin' with that Dub in your hand??"
He said "Im goin downta Houston, gonna drop some dubplates @ Gritsy man!"

For those who havent seen Joe Nice live. Just wait and see what kind of vibe this guys brings to a party. He will just sit in the back and lurk in the darkness until its his turn to go on. Then the shoes go off and the stupid bass is short followed. GET READY HOUSTON!! WE GETTING GRISTY!!
