Thought into producing

I think this is lacking in a lot of songs I've heard recently. Not just the production but everything. People seem to just be downloading/buying some software, making a kick-hihat-snare-hihat beat and then whacking a mi range wobble of which the rate increases and decreases, then not even EQing it properly, just whacking it on youtube/zshare and throwing out 320s like nobodies business. the internet is an amazing tool for music promotion etc but before internet tunes had to be up to a certain standard to get heard by the masses.
also, i know a lot of people who are literally making 140bpm wobblers literally to impress their friends and make it look like theyre more of a 'head' than others. now this is just fucked up. i'd consider a head someone who'll be down at a night whether or not skream is playing and whether or not theres 1000 people or 10 people there. but again, who says being a 'head' is cool now? why do people feel the need to try and prove their love for a genre of music to people and make it look like they like it and have been into it more/for longer than others?

dubstep is not a 'fashion' or a 'fad' where you have to dress and talk 'dubstep etc. it's music.

if you like it, listen to it, feel it, enjoy it. that's good enough for me.

I think the more you moan about dumb shit, the more of a head you are. so you're a proper dubstep head innit, kudos man, kudos.

its all about the love of music not about trying to impress others... who cares if somebody has been listening to dubstep (or any genre for that matter) a year longer than others..as long as people arent bandwagon jumpers and get into it purely for the love of the sounds. dubstep becoming more popular does have its downsides, but hopefully it means it will reach more genuine fans who otherwise may have missed out.

meh, im a dubstep newbie really, only been into it 2 years max, probably closer to one. but i believe my tracks are fairly respectable and original, and producing came before my interest in dubstep anyway...

but do you produce to be cool? and not put any thought into it? no, because you can tell by your beats that you do it because you love doing it

If people want to copy and produce poor music just to look "cool" let them.

They wont get very far....

Isn't it obvious that the problem isn't so much to do with technique and rather that hunners of folk are just shite & they'll always struggle to make decent music regardless of the effort they put in?

Everycunt can't be special.
