Just found out 2 seperate people are ripping audio of unreleased tracks from my myspace page WTF!!! To top it off they added it to dowload sites. thanks! one of the guys even played the track out

Bearing in mind its a low quality file and only 2 and half minutes long whats the point?

From now on no new material will be posted on my myspace page!

i doubt it's just those two people....theres a site that gets you the tune but they stopped when people put up clips...

Don't do that. Just make them shorter clips if you have to, 1 min max.

Could you not just add a really annoying loud beep every 20 seconds like what boomkat do on their websites for previews of tracks

I have no idea why you would want to present a product like that. like you said, it's annoying and pisses people off.

what's up with this thread anyway? you just have to accept that some people are daft enough to play low quality myspace rips. being reactionary only hurts you and your business. might aswell lock your tunes in a safe forever, that way you're sure noone will abuse them, right?

lol, my personal opinion must be very different from others...

I'd be stoked if people liked my music so much that they were willing to rip low quality, 2 minute clips to be able to have it.

I don't know if that's the best solution. If that Dj is really doing sh*t like that he'll do himself in fast and better than you ever could. Maybe start offering samples of your music on soundcloud or through zhare and a blog or maybe changing periodically your method of sharing previews.

I stock your labels vinyl in my shop regardless so whatever he's doing he probably isnt buying your records anyway. *shrug*

im assuming its the fact theyre not release though. Cuntish behaviour to the Nth degree really, just no respect (or thought).

I would definitely agree with the people saying dont stop uploading stuff aswell. Short clips, maybe just like three or four 20 second long samples of different parts of the track or something?

Either way, sort us an address and im sure we can get some kind of dsf lynching on the go. Havent broken out ole pitchy in a while...

i think the bleep thing that got mentioned is a good idea, or just chop gaps into your clip... no matter how you look at it, its really sad people feel the need to stoop so low.

The positive thing is, you found out about someone playing it out.

To me that suggests that there is at least still an ethic in this scene where people who play myspace rips of things they blatantly haven't got permission for are still going to get called out, one way or another.
