Don't know if you're into reggae or not but Horace Andy and Johnny Clarke are playing this thurs @ Elysee Montmatre.Anthony B playing tues and Roy Ayers playing on weds, both @ Cabaret Sauvage[all part of the black summer festival]
Patate Records is a great Reggae,Dub,Dancehall and Roots shop that also stocks some Dubstep and Jungle.[it's on Rue De Charonne i think]Deep Roots is another fine reggae specialist and it's on on rue Lucien Sampaix which I think is near Jacques Bonsergent metro. There's a few others listed here as well http://www.reggaefrance.com/annuaire.php .
Minuit Maroquinerie[Rue Boyer] is a theatre/concert hall that often has nice club nights on,[went to a really cool hip hop night there i think],not sure about midweek tho.Cafe Charbon[rue oberkampf] is an amazing refurbed art nouveau building that has cool gigs/club nights on the reg.Paris Plage has also just started, which means that the banks of the Seine are turned into an urban beach for a couple of months[there's usually music and or dj stuff happening and it's nearly always free!
Best bet is to buy a listings mag such as Nova,Technikart,or Les Inrockuptibles when you get there.Hope this is of some use to you man.

in my experience paris is a bit dry for night life, especially in the summer cos most of the parisiens decamp to the countryside and a lot of the clubs shut down for a month or two. getting a cab can also be a nightmare

however if theres any good nights on, a club called Bat au Far is different - its a nightclub in a boat floating on the Sienne. Has a decent soundsystem and a grimey feel - i've seen UK Hip Hop and jungle there. Otherwise Point Epherme might be ok, i think they have dubstep nights there but no idea if there'll be anything decent on when your there.

PS spellings are a guess!
