what he said.
I've never used a formant filter in my life to be fair, that's just what I assumed. drokkr is more likely to be right.

formant is def the more traditional way of doing it.

I don't think I have seen a post in a long time that didn't suggest a Bitcrusher to get the result sound, I personally avoid bitcrushers, I don't like that harsh of a downgrade in sampling usually in my mixdowns.

is there a bitcrushing crush (punsss) going on?

ive found that downsampling with a crusher and turning up the res is a good technique.

cmt bitcrusher FTW!

Using Z3ta, I managed to squeeze out a 'yeah' by a slow attack and a fast decay on the frequency cut off filter. Then I shove a load of bitcrusher on it to changed that 'womp' noise into a 'yeah'.
I must admit tho, my 'yeah' doesnt exactly sound professional.

if you have Reason, use the Digistruction patch from Scream Distortion which is under Fidelity Patches when you open Scream. You here the "Yeah" sound similar to the one in Murda Sound - Bar 9. It sounds good when you have an already grimey synth.

I suggest using a Malstrom with the Pink Noise patch with the motion turned down. Then add the Scream destortion and you will start to here the yeaaahhh. it sounds crazy when the rate is turned down low.

Good Luck, hope this helps

If you're using Kontakt, it has some good vowel filters for doing this. Just turn the resonance up a bunch and it gets more audible.
