Can I get some of the sounds I hear from the latest dubstep releases from these synths or do I have to open up my poor wallet?
Skream and Plump DJs have this grinding non musical sound they use in their songs.
Being a newbie, I need to know if I can work with what I have or do I have to invest my money into gear to keep my songs fresh.
I don't want to copy what others are doing but I'd love to know how to create some tracks with that awesome distorted synth.
I'm totally in the dark on this one.
Help is definitely appreciated.

You would have been probably better off posting this in the Production section of the forum ;)

As far as I know the majority of producers (in dubstep) are software based.

Logic, Cubase, FL8 and Reason being the main DAWs being used. Various VSTs are used by people to produce their sound sometimes with some heavy processing to achieve the distorted sound you seem to be looking for...

Theres no rules stating what gear you should use to make dubstep. They are some serious synths you've got there, all you need is imagination and creativity.
