Free File Hosting Options

Post by shonky » Tue Oct 31, 2006 5:06 pm

Seems that various people are having problems with different hosting sites (I seem to be able to download about 10% of anything stuck up on Megaupload or Sendspace for example). There's also the problems with files expiring which is a bit of an arse if it took you a couple of hours to upload a big file (mixes, sample packs, etc).

I was checking out http://www.fileden.com/ and after signing up you get 500mb of storage space - this stays up there until you delete it, so if there are big files to send, this is probably the best way to do it, and it'll send a URL that you can link to. You can also upload a zip file and it'll unpack them for you and give you separate URL's for each tune if you feel so inclined.

Just thought it might be worth mentioning as it saves a lot of re-ups.
Hmm....

Yeah, I usually use YouSendIt but I know some people seem to have a problem downloading from there. And it's also only there for a week-10 days tops, 100 downloads, etc so this might be an improvement in some ways for permanent/semi-permanent hosting.
Hmm....
