Get your music on my page
In celebration of our new MPC kits we are doing a mix competition.

Download the free sounds here http://www.darksideofthetune.com/free_d ... /index.php

Only use those sounds for the track ( manipulate them all you want )

Send it to info@​darksideofthetu​ne.​com by August 6th ( a week )

I will post the best 2 tracks on the DSOTT myspace.

1st place will win all 6 of our sample sets

2nd place gets the 3 MPC kits.

I get a lot of errors when extracting the zip file. Just a heads up.

We are working on the error. The tech guys say its an Internet Explorer thing. Grrr! I will extend the date since we are having a hiccup.

Windows IE Problems...

OK so when you go to the page and are prompted to open the downloaded file cancel out of the error pages.
Hit the extract button the all files selection will be already checked go ahead and extract and it should work just fine.
There should be a folder on your desktop

Ok what is the duration for the track? and there is nothing but beat samples, would be good to throw in some other samples as well.

Those beat samples can be stretched, pitched, and manipulated to make a cool track. I was thinking 1-2 minutes. I've been working with these sounds and have come up with some great stuff. Good luck! Im extending this until August 14th. Bring it!

Sounds cool, are these samples too minimal for you guys to make a track purely from them? I use the MPC so there is alot of stuff you can do with them. I do understand not all of us are MPC users! Let me know..

Thats pritty sick, unfortunately im limited to reason 3.0 at the moment.
And id say most of us havnt got harware like that.

My track is gonna be pritty minimal me thinks. Should have it finished soonish.
