Dress Code in Sankeys

Post by domhunt » Thu Jul 30, 2009 2:43 pm

Gonna be a heavy night tonight,
never been Sankeys before though and all i have clean are,

a leather jacket,
grey t-shirt,
some sweet 3/4s,
cream belt and a pair of Dunlops.

Think i'll be able to get in?
I heard the bouncers are safe as houses.

Whats going on at Sankeys tonight? Thought Religion aint til tomorrow night?

The bouncers tend to be decent geezers so you should get in without fuss.

Got told I wasn't allowed in with a coat once, think they were actually expecting me to be wearing it inside all night!?!? (only had it coz it was pissing it down outside)
They made me take it off outside and escorted me to the cloakroom.

Yeah thats the crowd they're after, used to be a proper grimy scally club most people were in shirts an stuff, you could still get in wearing jeans an t-shirt tho... If you ask me the Sankeys vibe disapeared when they referbished the club it'll never be the same.

when was that?

i went pretty regularly from 1998 - 2005 and it was always pretty chilled - jeans and t-shirts etc. Except on a saturday you'd get some of the sunglasses at night / ironic mullet crew which was pretty funny, but no bother. it certainly wasn't grimy/scally compared to pretty much anywhere else in Manc!
