Ballers Social are proud to present Skweee pioneer Limonious on August 29th.
Limonious aka Frans Carlqvist founded the pioneering 'Flogsta Danshall' label in 2005. He began releasing a proto-electronic Funk sound coming out of Scandinavia, which he named Skwee. Since then, the label and genre have garnered worldwide attention and pushed the homegrown sound to the masses. His recent 'Swedish Pommak / Hurri Up' 7" on the label is just mind blowing, - smothered in lightning synth work, Disco-driven drums and future Funk, it embodies the genres playful nature perfectly.
His live show will be fashioned as all Skwee live shows are; completely hardware based, improvised and energetic. Using customised synthesizers,
old drum machines, taped up guitar pedals, modified toys and the occasional keytar, its a fascinating approach to performing live electronic music.
After tearing Sonar 2008 apart and creating a serious dance floor at Ballers last year, we can't wait to hear his new material.
This Lucky Electronic Music Party is held in The Ivy on August 29th.
