Question about synths & bass in Reason

Right I'm sure there is a simpler way of doing things with synth/basslines than the technique I'm using now of duplicating the synths and changing their rate: this way doesn't seem to 'flow' as much as the synths I hear in dubstep. I'm sure there is a way to change the rate etc. on just one synth without having to duplicate them - but I could be wrong.

Here's an example of what I'm talking about (way the synth varies in rate)

lool if i hear you rigth you want to change the rate of ur syths ? very easy to do edit auto man, rigth click on the rate button in reason and i think its the 1st 1 "edit auto" 1st u done that the butonn with go green, and on the sequencer there will be a new lane where you can now change the rate

Nope haha, I've taught myself and theres shit loads of stuff I've missed out/still learning. Safe for this though

Yeah too true. I've been writing music and playing guitar/keys for years, so all of the theory and actually getting ideas for the tunes aint a problem at all - its turning those ideas into music through the sequencer and finding out all the methods to achieve the desired sound which I'm getting to grips with, but picking it up quick.
