I'm going to go with 'never'.
Name a single example of labels clamping down on DJ mixes distributed for free, in any genre.

Is that regarding Logans show..? I'm sure its to do with the "Listen back" feature .. to boost listeners.. keeping the show on legal radio.

Same goes with Mary Anne Hobbs / Plastician.. Radio 1

What's the story here?

And waiting to upload radio rips to boost listen again ratings is a completly different issue. That's just common curtesy to whoever's show it is, nothing to do with label pressure.

I download and burn mixes for my whip. I put them on my mp3 player and I listen to them at work. I can't be bothered to stream a damn mix when I want to hear it. And I'll post them, here or elsewhere, whether the producers like that or not.

Nobody knows who you are if nobody is playing your tunes. Don't bite the hand that feeds you, I say.

the problem Marcus mainly had was that someone did an all Soul:R / Revolve:r mix or something and he wasn't too happy about that for some reason ...

yeah, it woulda been funny if he tried to sue, then someone called him to see all his sample clearances.

haha, yea... didn't you know, it's no longer called Drum N Bass--now we call it "Freestyle Break Appropriation"

And on that note, I would like to remind you ALL, it is actually illegal to play records and CD's at a club without a license and WRITTEN PERMISSION of a label involved--for every tune, every time.

That said, I do believe Marcus Intalex is the first(and after the fallout last) producer/owner to say shit about it.

I DARE a label to tell me I can't mix tunes of theirs I bought--they'll be on Soulseek in no time flat.

As it's all good promotion for the tunes I reckon it's pretty fuckwitted to even contemplate it to be honest
